It seems like lately we’ve all been bombarded with apps that you can sell your clothes on but I was happy to find out Cuturia is different. Victoria Bardsley (the PR for Cuturia) and David Mollison (the Creative Director for Cuturia) asked to meet with me a couple weeks ago and I, of course, was up for it. We sat atop the beautiful LA skyline at Perch restaurant in Downtown where we sipped on cocktails and they filled me in on their new app. Basically Cuturia is a high-end consignment app for sellers that have designer items in their closet that they want to get rid of (and get a decent price for). It’s also for buyers who want designer items in their closet without breaking the bank. We all turn to Ebay for these situations but Cuturia aims to give you an experience that doesn’t make you want to pull your hair out like ebay often does. They have an easy to use interface, the ability to list items directly from you phone using your phone camera, the option of sharing it with your Facebook friends (which also goes to Cuturia’s resale network), pre paid postage for when you sell / buy an item, the option of returning the item if you’re not pleased with it, and a fully functioning website to use as well. They brands expected to be on the app are Alexander Wang, Dolce Vita, Lanvin, Tom Ford, Gucci just to name a few. Another great thing about Cuturia? They are rounding up consignment stores to use their app as well so not only will you get discounted designer items but you will get the best of the best! Cuturia’s set to launch Fall 2012 and I for one, am excited. Its a great outlet to shop from when I have a little bit of extra cash, and want that designer item for a great price..
