My bridal shower took place at Palihouse in LA with avocado toast, mimosas, and a fabulous group of women (and my bff Guynemer).
For my bridal shower, I wanted something simple with good food and lots of drinks. I’m originally from the LA area (about 45 minutes north) so I could have easily had a shower at one of mine, or Christian’s relatives houses but I wanted a chic little brunch because why not? I also wanted something in LA because this is my home now and I wanted all of my friends and family that aren’t out here, to be treated to a day out here. My mom was so generous as to throw me the shower along with my wonderful MOH who helped tremendously and it was beautiful.
I chose Palihouse for the location for many reasons but I did love the private little room we got and the location. The books and masculine wall paper weren’t really my thing but I loved how everything turned out in the end. To soften the room up a bit, Christian’s aunt and cousin brought in some beautiful flowers and Palihouse switched out the flannel chairs with pink, velvet chairs. Christian’s other aunt and mom ordered my cake, which was GORGEOUS and helped soften the room as well. My MOH decorated and my bridesmaids helped, they kept it simple and classic. We enjoyed a delicious menu of avocado toast, scones, kale salad, eggs benedict and bacon with lots of prosecco flowing (and for me, OJ in a champagne glass). We played a game of Jeopardy with everyone, where teams had to answer trivia questions about myself, Christian, the wedding and us as a couple. The winners got Voluspa candles and everyone else took home a container of banana pudding from Magnoila Bakery as their favor. The last game we concluded the shower with was a round of questions that my bff asked Christian before hand, then I had to guess his answers (pictured above). To sum it up, we learned that Christian is a lot sweeter and romantic than I am (which I love) and his favorite part about me is my soft skin l.o.l.
Lastly, my outfit. I was having trouble finding bottoms that fit and got somewhat stuck in the mindset of wearing a skirt (which REALLY doesn’t fit). I found this bodysuit on Missguided and decided to go a little more edgy route with boyfriend jeans, Proenza Schouler heels, hair up and a choker. It was comfortable, you could see my little bump and I was in white (win.win.win.). My only critic (of my own outfit) is that I need a real bra because these bralettes in my drawer are not cutting it anymore. On another note, I’m really surprised how hard it is to find good white pieces of clothing (which I’ve been struggling with this whole wedding process) and it’s even harder trying to have them fit when you’re pregnant! I think I’ve got my outfits for my second bachelorette and wedding weekend down, more of that to come!
