I decided to do a good ol’ #TBT today because Stephanie reminded me of this post and it is one of my faves. A couple years ago (sheesh) we wanted to have a mulled wine night thanks to Thorny Rose wines being so lovely as to send me a bottle of their tastiest wine. We made a night out of it, got dressed up, cuddled with my dogs and sipped yummy mulled wine. For the full post go here, and below is the recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients (8 servings)
4 cups apple cider
1 (750-ml) bottle red wine, such as Thorny Rose Wines Red Blend
1/4 cup honey (I totally forgot about this when I made it…oops!)
Mulled spices (they usually come in a packet which is cheaper and easier but you can also buy the individual spices listed here)
4 oranges, peeled, for garnish
Combine the cider, wine, honey, Mulling spices (or if you bought them separate: cinnamon sticks, zest, juice, cloves and star anise) in a large saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Pour into mugs, add an orange peel to each and serve.
